There are worse places to get ambushed by an idea than Patagonia.
For his latest single, ‘Ambush’, Timothy and the Apocalypse found inspiration thousands of miles from the familiar confines of a studio. Written during the dead of winter while leading a photography tour through Argentina’s spectacular southern wilderness, the track began taking shape in and around El Chaltén, where granite mountains disappear into cloud and the wind seems capable of rearranging just about everything in its path.
"Making music with my brother gave this track a completely different energy. We've shared a lifetime of experiences, and I think that connection naturally found its way into the music. 'Coming To Life' is about rediscovering hope and embracing whatever comes next."
Built on shimmering synths, expansive textures and a steadily unfolding groove, My Hearts Awaken trades instant gratification for slow-burning emotion. Rather than chasing the biggest drop, the track patiently builds towards something more lasting—a feeling of release, resilience and rediscovery.
Built around shimmering synths, hypnotic rhythms and an undeniable sense of momentum, Can't Get Enough is a song that captures the rush of connection and the feeling of wanting a fleeting moment to last forever. Rather than relying on oversized festival theatrics, the collaboration leans into atmosphere, groove and carefully crafted emotion.
While much of today's electronic music is built around explosive drops and instant gratification, Feels So Quiet moves in the opposite direction. Patient, cinematic and emotionally rich, the track unfolds through shimmering synths, spacious production and an understated vocal performance that lingers long after the final note.
Known for crafting immersive soundscapes that sit between downtempo, ambient, and melodic electronica, Timothy continues to refine his signature sound. Screaming Out My Name leans into restraint and space, allowing each element to breathe while building a quiet yet powerful emotional intensity.
Built around shimmering synth textures, warm basslines and a slow-burning groove, Sunlight captures a sense of quiet optimism and reflection. The track unfolds with patience, drawing listeners into an expansive sonic landscape before lifting into a euphoric, light-filled release.
Timothy and the Apocalypse has once again delivered a track that is as introspective as it is expansive with their latest single, "Never Let Me Go." This compelling release firmly entrenches the project within the burgeoning space of Indie Electronic and Dream Pop, offering a sonic experience that feels both intimately familiar and refreshingly new.
"Just For A Moment" is a masterclass in cinematic electronic music, weaving together expansive modular synth pads, shimmering arpeggios that mimic the cosmic dance of distant stars, and a subtly pulsing, organic beat. It’s a journey through melancholic yet deeply reflective soundscapes, infused with a profound sense of wonder and vastness. The track builds with an insistent, spiritual momentum, reflecting the delicate balance between digital artistry and the raw, untamed beauty of its origins.
Timothy and the Apocalypse’s “Ambush” began in the middle of a frozen Patagonian winter, while Australian photographer and producer Timothy Poulton was leading a photography tour around El Chaltén in Argentina’s far south.
That setting could have easily turned into broad cinematic mood music, but the more interesting part of the track is smaller and stranger. The mountains gave him atmosphere, while abandoned cars around town gave him metallic percussion, incidental noise, and the weathered texture that ties the record to a real place.
